For the past several years, FUMC has celebrated Christmas in July - enjoying decorations and Christmas music, and even a Christmas service. In the spirit of Christmas, the Missions Committee has organized a backpack giveaway for families and children in need. We send out flyers through the school and families respond with their child's age and sizes. The good folks at FUMC then select a child to buy for - very similar to an Angel Tree drive in December. This ensures that each child gets a brand-new backpack that is filled with school supplies, a pair of pants, a shirt, and a new pair of shoes! This has been a true blessing to us and to the families involved. Please join us and partner in this outreach! You'll be glad you did!
