Yokefellowship Prison Ministry

Yokefellowship Prison Ministry is a grassroots ministry, started in the 1950's by a Quaker theologian, Elton Trueblood. Today, there are local affiliates all around the country. YPM provides Bibles for inmates and offers weekly Bible study sessions filled with prayer and worship. Many times the inmates testify that attending the Yokefellow session keeps them going until Sunday, then church keeps them going until Yokefellows. There is no doubt that these sessions help inmates deal with despair, sorrow, depression and anxiety, as well as encourage stronger faith beliefs and moral values.

Their commitment is the idea that people’s lives are changed through personal discipline and committed small groups where problems and faith are shared. The goal of YPM small groups is to connect people to God, to connect people to one another, and to raise up disciples in a relational manner.

Their call is to yoke ourselves to Christ, to yoke ourselves to one another, and to visit those in prison.

As a church, we support YPM financially to help them purchase Bibles. We also partner with them in prayer. We invite you to do the same.
